Extreme and Massive World of Warcraft Setup - Multi Boxing
Published by Jun | Filed under Games, World of Warcraft
I’m not an online gamer but i’m fascinated with games and computer hardware - how massive the setup and costly just to play online games. It’s really awesome if you ask. As i’m surfing around and i bump with Gizmodo posts where Gamer makes the 47 PC setup -his girlfriend. This setup allows two gamers to simultaneously control 23 independent accounts each.
This Extreme and Massive World of Warcraft is a Multi Boxing complex setup consist of shuttle systems, QPack and AOpen small form factor PCs. With 6 LCD monitors mounted on twin thrones. Gaming experience on this setup i think the ultimate heaven for gamers. One of the cons here - i bet his electricty is monstrous and his bill has racking with more digits!
Xzin, a World of Warcraft player behind this setup is now contemplating graduating from “epic” to “ledendary” and the Man Who Would Solo a 40 Man Raid.
He already regularly pvp’s by controlling 5 characters at once: one priest and four mages. I’ve seen one of his videos and I’m impressed. Note that he leveled them all up by controlling all five in instanced dungeons. Note that he has no tank, just mages and a priest. Xzin his his priest and his mages are Azin, Bzin, Czin, and Dzin. His guild: Army of Zin.
Zin is now planning to scale up his efforts to take down Ragnaros, the boss of Molten Core, all by himself. He’ll need to buy 40 copies of World of Warcraft, by 40 monthly subscription fees (about $600/month), have enough computers to run 40 instances of the game, and use 40 monitors (most of them will be 8.4″ monitors). He’ll need a physical space that can accomodate all the equipment, and by his estimates, he’ll need at least the equivalent of two T1 internet connections for bandwith, which you can’t really get from residential dsl or cable. I’m guessing that the hardware and software costs will be more than $20,000.
If you also want to have this kind of system on your room theres a Howto to setup a Multi Boxing here and MultiBoxing Wiki. More other multiboxing setup screenshots here. I’m jealous!
I wonder if theres someone having this setup here in Davao City.?

The concept of photography has undergone a 180 degree alteration with the advent of the digital camera. Now we have a pda as a transfer device and portable printers, encouraging an independent setup for every home.
